Upcoming events and layings of Stolpersteine in Frankfurt

The next Stolperstein installations in Frankfurt will take place in cooperation with the Cäcilienchor Frankfurt on April 25 and 26, 2026. In the neighborhoods of Bahnhofsviertel, Dornbusch, Fechenheim, Innenstadt, Nordend, Sachsenhausen, and Westend, 34 new stumbling stones will commemorate the families of choir members who were persecuted under National Socialism. The schedule and biographies will be posted on this site a few weeks in advance.

December, 5, 2025, installation of Stolpersteine at Schützenstraße 7 (opposite no. 10) for Josef, Esther Erna, Hermann, Leo, and Helene Sonnenblick.

Public call for Stolpersteine cleaning for November 9 

Before the remembrance day for the ‘Reichspogromnacht’ at November 9, we call all registered helpers as well as all citizens to clean and polish Frankfurt’s Stolpersteine. Also, flowers and candles may be placed at the stones.


October 29 and 30, 2025: Unveiling of Stolpersteine in Frankfurt in the neighborhoods of Bornheim, Innenstadt, Nied, Nordend, and Westend.

June 29 - July 2, 2025: Installation of 70 Stolpersteine in the neighborhoods of Altstadt, Bockenheim, Dornbusch, Heddernheim, Innenstadt, Nordend, Ostend, Sachsenhausen and Westend.

October 29/30, 2024

The unveiling of 29 new Stolpersteine in Frankfurt took place on October 29 and 30 in the neighborhoods of Bahnhofsviertel, Dornbusch, Innenstadt, Niederursel, Oberrad, Sachsenhausen, Sossenheim and Westend.

September 5, 2024: Relocation of three Stolpersteine in Bergen-Enkheim

On September 5, 2024, the Stolpersteine laid in 2008 for Minna, Walter Siegfried and Richard Weil will be relocated from the address Am Berger Spielhaus 7 to the address Alt-Bergen 6, which according to recent findings actually was the Weil family’s last freely chosen home.

The ceremony starts ar 2 p.m., Am Berger Spielhaus 7


June 2024

The settings of Stumbling Stones in Frankfurt took place on June, 16th to 19th, 2024. On these four days 101 new Stolpersteine have been installed in the neighborhoods of Bahnhofsviertel, Bornheim, Ginnheim, Innenstadt, Nordend, Ostend, Riederwald, Sachsenhausen, and Westend, amongst them the 2000th Stolperstein in Frankfurt for Lorenz Weisbrod at Mainkurstr. 29 on June 17 at 10:45 am.

Public event: 20 years of Stolpersteine in Frankfurt am Main, November 30, 2023

On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the first laying of Stolpersteine in Frankfurt am Main, a public event was held at the Historisches Museum on November 30, 2023:

Art and Memory - 20 Years of Stumbling Stones in Frankfurt am Main, 23 Years of the Library of Generations

In addition to a review of 20 years of Stolpersteine in Frankfurt, there was a panel discussion on both art and remembrance projects with Gunter Demnig (artist and creator of the Stolpersteine), Jan Gerchow (Historisches Museum), and members of the Initiative Stolpersteine, among others.
